Falling off the frugal wagon – again

Hello Friends,

And welcome to everyone who has dropped by in the last few days – do post a comment, it would be great to hear from you.

‘January is the cruellest month’ to paraphrase Geoffrey Chaucer (I think I remember from English A level quite a few years ago!)  I got paid on 22nd December, and I’ve got to get through to 25th January, nearly 5 weeks.

I’ve just had a look at the accounts and it’s going to be tight to the end of the month.  I’ve been incredibly busy at work and at home and I’ve taken my eye off the ball with spending.  I’ve paid off huge amounts on the credit cards and haven’t quite left myself to live off – doh!  I haven’t recorded my spending each day and although I’ve caught up now, it’s meant I’ve not been monitoring my spending properly.

I’ve worked out a few ways to get to the end of the month.  I’m using up Nectar points for food and I’ve planned all my meals to the end of the month using up what I’ve got in the cupboard.  I’m staying out of shops so I don’t get tempted to spend.  It’s get tough with myself time.

How have you managed to dig yourself out of a financial hole at the end of the month?

Until next time, Tawney x
