Making gardening jobs manageable and a mouse update

Hello Friends,

We found a mouse in one of the traps we have set this morning.  Bit of a yuk factor, but I’ve decided I can’t cope with them trotting around the place.  It’s giving me the creeps.  Somebody told me you have to keep moving the traps around as the mice get to know where they are, so they are all re-set again.

I spent most of today pottering about doing various jobs in the garden.  I’m trying to tidy the entrance area around the house at the moment.  There is a fair bit to do, so I’ve just broken it all down into separate tasks and I’m just doing one thing at a time.  It doesn’t matter how long it all takes.

A few weeks ago, I posted about how I was cleaning up the steps.  I finished this yesterday, and then moved on to remove the ivy from the gate post.

And after

I like ivy – I think it gives gardens a mysterious feel, but the gateposts are a feature of our house and I like them to be visible.  I also don’t really want ivy damaging walls, so I removed more from the wall behind our house.  It’s made this little patch much lighter, and I’m hoping to do some more work to improve this space in the coming weeks.

Have you been out in the garden this weekend?

Until next time, Tawney x
